seit den anfangsjahren der schule für dichtung gehören autoren und autorinnen verschiedenster nationalitäten und sprachen zur sfd-faculty, dies gilt auch für die studentinnen und studenten. es bestehen kooperationen mit internationalen institutionen, zb in kolumbien, vietnam, deutschland, tschechien und in der schweiz.
zu den unterrichtssprachen der sfd zählen folglich neben deutsch auch sprachen wie englisch, französisch, russisch, spanisch, italienisch, vietnamesisch.

nathan horowitz

born in the usa in 1968, nathan horowitz lived in ecuador for four years before resettling in vienna in 2000. he works as a proofreader, translator, and english trainer. member of labyrinth – association of english-language poets in vienna.
publications: "nighttime daydreams," chapbook of poems, published by labyrinth press, june 2001; "the internationals," feature article, ann arbor observer, november 2000; "if i were a writer," prose poem, global city review, fall 1995 a. o.


sandra huber

sandra huber is a canadian poet living, writing and teaching in vienna. she received a b.a. in literature from simon fraser university in vancouver, graduated with an m.a. in creative writing from the university of toronto.
in her work she plays with dissociation and non-sense by mixing various registers of vocabulary or technical language to create a vivified and self-conscious artifice.
she's been published in various literary magazines and her short story “eels” has recently been selected by dzanc press as part of their best of 2008 anthology.


julia novak

geboren 1979. julia novak studierte englische literatur in wien und edinburgh und
kulturmanagement in london. sie schreibt lyrik auf englisch und hat sich auch sonst der englischen lyrik verschrieben: selbst schreibend in der doktorarbeit zu poetry in performance, und organisierend als leiterin des internationalen vienna lit festivals.
zuletzt wurden gedichte von ihr im london magazine veröffentlicht.


vienna lit
vienna lit is a literary society whose aims are to both increase the popularity of english language literature in austria and to bring to vienna the atmosphere of the british literature scene, with its vitality and diversity of current literary genres. 
in addition to the many smaller literary events organised by vienna lit in various locations in vienna throughout the year, the organisation and realisation of the vienna lit festival is its main focus. it took place for the first time in autumn 2006 and will return annually beginning in spring 2008: april 17-20.

peter waugh

peter ian waugh was born in barnet, london in 1956. has lived in vienna since 1981, where he works as a freelance translator and english teacher. co-founder of labyrinth. studied with allen ginsberg, anne waldman, jackson mac low, ed sanders, blixa bargeld, henri chopin a. o. has organised and particpated in numerous readings in vienna and austria, including appearances with the groups dunkler sand and the karl sayer jazz sextet and the erstes wiener lesetheater. his poetry has appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines, as well as in the chapbooks “horizon firelight” (2000) and “haiku butterfly death dream” (2002).

labyrinth
association of english-language poets in vienna
founded in 1993, labyrinth is a group of poets based in vienna and working primarily with the english language in a foreign-language environment. members meet regularly to read, write, perform and publish their individual and collective work, with the aim of exploring and enhancing their own and others’ perception and expression of the varieties of poetic experience. labyrinth also publishes the poetry journal subdream.
